Orthopedic Surgeon:

Dave Atkin, M.D. is the Medical Director of the Orthopedic Clinic and current Chief of Orthopedics of St. Luke's Hospital. He is a board certified orthopedist who completed an additional two-year fellowship in knee and shoulder surgery. His areas of specialization include arthroscopy, sports medicine, and joint replacement. Dr. Atkin, an avid medical volunteer, is the current President of Operation Rainbow, an organization providing free medical and surgical care to indigent children in developing countries. He has led volunteer teams from St. Luke's to the Philippines, Nicaragua, El Salvador, and the Caribbean for over a decade.

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation:

Moshe Lewis, M.D. is a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician at St. Luke's Hospital. He recently completed his training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Tuffs University– New England Medical Center in Boston, where he served as Chief Resident and is now Board certified. Dr. Lewis also holds a Master's degree in Public Health from New York University and attended medical school at Mount Sinai Hospital also in New York. His areas of specialization include electromyography, neuromuscular medicine and non-operative pain management for sports and spine injuries.

Pain Management:

Claudio Palma, M.D. is a board-certified Anesthesiologist and Fellowship trained Interventional Pain Management Specialist. He completed his anesthesiology training at University of California, Los Angeles and subsequently completed a pain management fellowship at UCLA as well. Dr. Palma practices interventional pain management with a focus on spine disorders, neuropathic pain, and cancer pain. He is skilled in numerous interventional techniques including both cervical and lumbar epidurals, transforaminal epidural injections, zygapophyseal joint injections, sacroiliac joint (SI) injections, radiofrequency rhizotomy, sympathetic nerve blocks, neurolytic procedures, spinal cord stimulation, and intrathecal drug delivery systems. Dr. Palma is fluent in Spanish as well.
